What a headlight restoration does
Plastic headlight lenses fog over from years of sun. The haze scatters the light, so you see less of the road at night and the whole front of the car looks older than it is. We mask the paint, wet sand the lens through several grits to take the oxidized layer off, machine polish it back to clear, then seal it so it stays clear. Both headlights are done together.
Once every couple of years. The sealant slows the yellowing down but San Diego sun eventually wins.

Eventually, yes, but far more slowly than before. The factory coating was already gone. Our sealant gives the lens fresh UV protection, and washing the car regularly keeps grime from etching in.
For most cars, yes. New headlight assemblies run hundreds to thousands of dollars each. Restoration is $125 for the pair and makes the lenses clear again the same day.
No. Restoration fixes haze, yellowing and light scratching on the outside of the lens. Cracks, moisture inside the housing and burnt out bulbs need a repair shop.
