What a exterior detail does
The exterior detail resets the paint. The car is washed and hand dried, clayed to pull off bonded grit, machine polished to remove oxidation and light scratches, then sealed with Meguiar's wax so the finish lasts. Wheels are cleaned, tires dressed, trim and glass detailed. It is the difference between a car that is clean and a car that looks new.
Once a year, twice if the car sleeps outside.

Machine polishing. Clay and wax cleans and protects the surface. The exterior detail also corrects it, taking out oxidation, swirl marks and light scratches before the wax goes on.
Light cleaning, yes. Full headlight restoration is part of the super exterior or can be added on its own.
Two to three months of protection, longer if the car is a Gold member and gets hot wax on every wash.
